Close to 32,000 Chinese eye care professionals tuned in to the live streamed Chinese Optician's Summit last Friday, to learn about the IMI's global efforts in the area of myopia management and advocacy.
Olga Prenat, Global Director of Education and Professional Relations at Essilor International and Chief Editor of Points de Vue, recently invited myopia experts, IMI chair Prof. Serge Resnikoff, and committee members Prof. Ian Flitcroft, Prof. Earl Smith and Dr. Monica Jong to share their inspiring journey with the initiative and discuss how the white papers are critical to improving clinical myopia management.
The International Myopia Institute (IMI) consensus group, which brings together clinical researchers, scientists and eye care practitioners advancing myopia research, education and advocacy, is leading a search for eye care practitioners to “help disseminate the evidence from their published white papers to every part of the world.”
The IMI recognises that it is a difficult time for all, and many members have been impacted during COVID-19. Over the past few months, the group has re-focused efforts to ensure that we can deliver planned consensus reports early 2021.
