Ms. Minh Anh Tran is one of the first optometrists in Vietnam. She received her Bachelor of Optometry at Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry, India – (L.V. Prasad) in 2013. Subsequently, in 2015, she has graduated from Melbourne University with a master’s degree in clinical optometry.
Together with local partners, Ms. Minh Anh developed the first optometry course in Vietnam. Since 2014, she has been working as the key lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry at Hanoi Medical University, as well as a clinical supervisor/clinician in Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology. Minh Anh teaches the 1st generation of Optometry students in Vietnam. Ms. Minh Anh has organized series of screenings as part of training program for Optometry. This helps to trained optometrists to provide eye care for local people, thus improve primary eye care quality in Vietnam.
Ms. Minh Anh is pioneering and advocating for Optometry in Vietnam. Representing Optometry in Vietnam, she has participated and spoken in many major ophthalmology and optometry conferences in Vietnam and other countries. In 2019, for her contribution to Optometry in Vietnam, she was awarded Eye Health Hero by the IAPB organization.
