Rasha is an anterior segment and paediatric ophthalmologist specialist. She finished both her basic and higher surgical training in ophthalmology in Ireland. She obtained her Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2002, and her Master’s degree in cataract surgery in 2003. Rasha has been awarded a few national and international awards, and has
a dual fellowship in both cornea and anterior segment, as well as paediatric ophthalmology. She is also a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She is working as a Specialist with Counties Manukau District Health Board, Honorary senior lecturer in the Ophthalmology department at Auckland University.
Rasha’s main area of research and interest is cataract, cornea and anterior segment, Myopia in children, paediatric anterior segment diseases, especially keratoconus, early detection, and management. She is a founder of the Australia, New Zealand Myopia working group.
