The Ophthalmic & Physiological Optics (OPO) journal has released a special issue featuring Point-Counterpoint articles based on the widely attended International Myopia Institute (IMI) Debates, held at the International Myopia Conference (IMC) in Hainan, China.
This special edition presents a unique scholarly format that captures the spirit of the live debates, where leading global experts explored key controversies and emerging perspectives in myopia research, clinical care, and public health policy.
“It was a pleasure to serve as Guest Editor for this issue,” said Dr. Nina Tahhan, Executive Director of the International Myopia Institute. “The IMI Debates sparked strong engagement from both speakers and attendees, and this issue offers a valuable platform to continue those conversations through evidence-based, peer-reviewed dialogue.”
Each article presents balanced, well-reasoned viewpoints on major topics in myopia, reflecting the IMI’s commitment to fostering global consensus through rigorous scientific exchange and collaboration.
The issue also includes an editorial by Dr. Tahhan, introducing the mission and consensus-building efforts of the International Myopia Institute.
